Sergeant 2476 Robert Valentine Weaving
1st/4th Battalion (Princess Charlotte of Wales's) Royal Berkshire Regiment

Local Information:

His local connections are difficult to establish as he is shown as being born in Abingdon, enlisted at Reading and place of residence as Abingdon. He was the Son of Robert and Martha Weaving, of Abingdon, Berkshire and the husband of Dorothy Weaving. He went to France on 30th March 1915 which would indicate that he was a pre war territorial soldier.

[At some point his army number was changed to 200246]

He died of wounds on Sunday, 27th August 1916, aged 28. He is buried in Mill Road Cemetery, Thiepval, Somme, France.
