The text on the card states "This is a photo of the front door with the Master & Matron standing on the steps & the Porter & Supt (?) Nurse against the doors.  Our March audit takes place on the 4th of Nov.  Rather late isn't it.  Hope you are well.  Kind regards to the matron & self.  A. E. C.".

The postcard is addressed to a "Mr Lomer, Master, The Workhouse, Woodstock". The postage stamp has been franked with the post town of Hungerford and the post year of 1907.
