23 Jan 2014: Bargain Hunt - A few shots of one of the Bargain Hunt programmes in production - lower-key than last year's involvement but at the request of the Town Clerk.

28 Jan 2014: Co-op building, 15 High Street - Pictures in support of Mayor Martin Crane's campaign to encourage the Co-op to restore and maintain their historic Queen Anne building in the High St. showing the building had become an eyesore and unsatisfactory for people living there.

8 Feb 2014: 6 REME Parade - The Homecoming Parade of 6REME from Tidworth. 

13 Mar 2014: Hungerford Arcade - Taken at the request of the Hungerford Aarcade, trial pictures of a number of their stalls for their new web-site. See 2014Events.doc - this proved to be a major project beyond the scope of voluntary community photography.

28-29 Jun 2014: Beating the Bounds - At the request of the Town & Manor, a formal record of proceedings - two days - wet then dry!

16 Jul 2014: John O'Gaunt School concert - The technical rehearsals for a Summer Showcase concert event at the school.

25 Jul 2014: Red Flowers in the High Street - As part of the Start of WW1 commemoration this centenary year, red was chosen as the theme of the floral decorations in the High St, many examples of which pictured here.

3 Aug 2014: WWI Commemoration Service and parade - Hopefully I managed to capture most visual aspects of the service from the welcome by Andrew, Jack Williams’ address, the reading the names of the fallen by the young people, the band accompanying the congregation in their hymn singing, the addresses and prayers, the RBL exhortation and the Last Post, and finally the trooping out of the Colours.

12 Sep 2014: Tour of Britain Cycle Race - Crowds out to see a stage of the Tour of Britain cycle race passing through the town. Leading three riders include stage-winner Matthias Brandle, and Alex Dowsett who took over the yellow jersey (lead of the race). The peleton included Sir Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish. The first picture of the peleton was used for the cover of the Hungerford Calendar, and appeared in other publications.

5 Oct 2014: Food Festival - The annual Food Fair held in the Corn Exchange and out in the High Street.

9 Nov 2014: Remembrance Parade - The parade down the High Street and the wreath-laying at the War Memorial in the Memorial Park at Bulpit Lane.

11 Nov 2014: John O'Gaunt School Armistice Day - On Armistice Day, the John O'Gaunt School held a special event to comemmorate the start of WWI.There was a special school assembly, planting of poppies (with a mallet), and senior students met veterans and RSM Jim Cooper from 6 REME.

30 Nov 2014: Advent Service - A candle(only)-lit advent service at St Lawrence's Church provided a particulalrly challenging photographic assignment. I have left the colour cast from the candle-light uncorrected giving a warm atmosphere to the occasion.

30 Nov 2014: Christmas Lights switch-on - The impromptu stage outside the Town Hall was unapproachable, so I have concentrated on crowd scenes from the switching on event.

3 Dec 2014: Christmas Lights - The usual night time views of the High Street with some tail light streamer effects - at times difficult anyway to avoid passing traffic with the long exposures needed.

12 Dec 2014: Victorian Extravaganza - Street life and the parade from the annual Victorian Extravaganza with Mayor Dennis Benneyworth and Constable Susan Hofgartner resplendent.

21 Dec 2014: Mayor's Carol Service - The annual Town Carol Service at St Lawrence's Church hosted by Deputy Mayor Roger Thompson - with readers, the Town Band and congregation, the younger element represented by the manager of the Youth Centre.

28 Dec 2014: Candlelit Carol Service - A second equally challenging candle lit event at St Lawrence's Church - the church's own Carol Service.

28 Dec 2014: St Lawrence's Church decorations - Pictures of the Christmas floral decorations in St Lawrence's Church and of the nativity diorama.

Trains - A selection from my large collection of railway images showing interesting and colourful trains which passed through Hungerford during the year on the GWR main line to the SW.

Local Views - General views of the Town taken while walking about with camera to hand if an opportunity arises. Includes the High Street picture which went on to appear on the front cover of the new issue Ordnance Survey Landranger Map 174 - main title "Newbury and Wantage"!
