	Private 23785 Frank Thomas Knight 2nd Battalion (Princess Charlotte of Wales's) Royal Berkshire Regiment

Local Information:

Private Knight was the son of Mrs. Alice E Knight, of Park Street, Hungerford. He died on Saturday, 27th April 1918, Age 21. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Pozieres memorial to the missing, Somme, France.

The battalion war diary reads:

25th April 1918:
Counter Attack by Battalion at 6.30am on Villers-Bretonneux. Village cleared and mopped up. 35 Machine Guns and 300 Prisoners captured.

26th April 1918:
Battalion at Villers-Bretonneux Defences.

27th/28th April 1918:
Battalion came out of the Line (no actual relief taking place) and proceeded to Billets in Glisy.
