Private Palmer is a mystery man in as much as he appears not to show on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission site as a casualty. His name appears on the Hungerford Town Hall memorial board which gives the name of Eric. In addition it indicates that he died of sickness in France in either 1918 or 1919. The rank of Private would normally indicate he served in the army. His name does not appear in St Lawrence's church. |
