She opened the school around 1960, perhaps to fill the gap locally after Sally Richens' Manse School closed. There were about 15 children at the school. Local children included those of Robert James, Humphrey Hope, Keith Haddrell, Barry Kempton, Brudenell-Bruce, and Marriots of Inkpen. The school closed in the summer of 1972.

Miss Booth was said to have been a brilliant teacher of young children and got them all going on the 3 Rs and much else besides.
