Another advert in the Parish Magazine was for the "Market Place School" run by the Misses Bailey, which was to "re-commence on Monday January 1st 1872, at their new residence, Market Place, Hungerford. The Misses Bailey aim at giving a sound English Education, and study to cultivate moral and religious sentiments in their pupils".

It is unclear at present just where this school was, but it must have been close to the new Town Hall and Corn Exchange which had just been built and opened in November 1871.

Weekly boarders paid four guineas per quarter and daily pupils ten shillings and sixpence per quarter.
