You are in [Themes] [Schools] [Dame Schools] [Buckland House School]

Another small private school was at Buckland House, now 7 Oxford Street, in Eddington. It is thought that the house was built in 1835 [see plaque on front of house], although a date on the rear states 1674!

The Kelly Directory of 1864 reports that James Withers Austin had a day and boarding school at Buckland House, although the 1867 edition states that he was running a boarding school in the High Street – the exact location is not yet known.
