The earliest record of The Plough is in the 1851 census when Francis Hasell (32) was recorded as beerhouse keeper.
In the 1871 census it was Edward Lambourne who was recorded at the Plough Inn as "gardner and innkeeper".
The 1854 Billing has William Dyke, beer retailer and shopkeeper. [By the 1863 Dutton & Allen Directory, William Dyke was at the Red Lion in Charnham Street]. The 1864
Billing showed William Dyke at The Plough.
