Summary: 13 (& 12) Bridge Street. 1557 - c1700

Information on The "King's Head" is far from complete. However, records show that it became a tavern called "The King's Head" in 1557.

The building was destroyed by fire c.1609, after which it was amalgamated with 12 Bridge Street, and the combined new King's Head carried on trading until c1700.

When the tavern closed, 12 and 13 Bridge Street were used for residential ownership for the next 100 years until it became the wharfinger's house when the canal opened in 1798.
