Hungerford celebrated the Coronation of King George VI on 12 May 1937 with suitable festivities, including:

- Sunday 9 May: Parade, Unitied Service in The Croft
          (including the dedication of six new seats),
- Wednesday 12 May: Peal of Bells; Town Band
          concert, Broadcast of the Coronation Service
          in St Lawrence's Church, Cinema Performance,
          Children's Tea, Childrens' Fancy Dress Parade,
          Broadcast of the King's Speech, Torchlight
          Procession, Bonfire, Fireworks, and a
          Coronation Dance in the Corn Exchange.

What a day!
